Criteria for Assessing Hearing Conservation Audiograms (NAL Report 80)

Delivery weight: 150 g

This report has been written to provide guidelines for the assessment of audiograms collected in the course of industrial hearing conservation programs. Criteria are presented for deciding when to advise people to seek medical advice on the basis of their audiometric results and for taking corrective action when a deterioration in hearing appears to have occurred since a previous test.

Mention is made of certain legislative requirements to notify State authorities of cases of hearing loss detected in hearing conservation programs and guidelines are given for identifying degrees of hearing loss which are prima facie compensable.
